The Stone Index is a Southern California stone slab and remnant marketplace based in Los Angeles, where homeowners, designers, contractors, and fabricators can browse marble, quartzite, granite, porcelain, and other stone inventory from local sellers across Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, and nearby areas.
What we do
We bring participating Southern California stone-yard inventory into one searchable marketplace. Buyers can compare actual slab photographs, listed dimensions, finishes and material asking prices before contacting a seller. Inventory changes, so a listing is not a guarantee that the stone is still in stock.
The seller relationship and project fabrication are separate. Sellers own and manage their stone inventory, while buyers confirm availability and material details directly through each listing. After a slab or remnant is selected, The Stone Index can also arrange follow-up with a local fabrication and installation team for countertops, vanities, fireplaces, showers, and other custom stone projects. Built by a Los Angeles stone fabricator
The Stone Index was founded by Kevin, a Los Angeles stone fabricator and installer with more than 20 years of hands-on experience. That work includes field measuring, slab layout, fabrication, installation, and coordinating the details between stone yards, designers, contractors, fabricators, and homeowners.
The marketplace grew from a problem seen repeatedly in the field: useful stone can sit in local yards and fabrication shops while buyers spend hours calling suppliers or driving from yard to yard trying to find the right material. The Stone Index is built to make that local inventory easier to discover while keeping availability, pricing, and the sale directly between the buyer and the seller.
Our stone guides and project guidance are informed by real fabrication and installation experience, including practical considerations such as slab size, matching pieces, seam planning, material behavior, finish, and how a stone will be used in the finished project.
