These Terms govern your use of The Stone Index ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The marketplace

The Stone Index is a Southern California marketplace for homeowners, designers, contractors, fabricators and stone sellers. Participating sellers list slabs, remnants and other inventory; buyers can browse, save, compare and inquire about those listings. The Stone Index is not a stone yard, does not take possession of listed material, and is not a party to the buyer-seller material sale.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter contracts to create an account or submit inquiries. You are responsible for accurate account information and activity under your account. Keep your password, sign-in links and other credentials private. Saving a favorite or project, or creating a stone alert, does not reserve material.

3. Listings

Sellers must own or have authority to list the materials they post.
Photos must accurately depict the actual slab or remnant offered.
Descriptions, dimensions, quantities and material asking prices must be truthful and kept current.
Listings marked sold may remain visible as historical references to help buyers discover alternatives. A sold listing is not an offer of available stock.
We may remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.

4. Buyer conduct

Inquiries and project requests must be genuine and made in good faith. When you contact a seller, your inquiry details may be delivered to that seller and responses may be exchanged through The Stone Index. Confirm current stock, actual seller location, quantities, material condition and final price with the seller before traveling or committing to a purchase. Do not scrape the site, harvest contact information for unsolicited marketing, or copy the Service to operate a competing marketplace.

5. Fees

Membership is available for qualifying stone yards. Inventory listings are included as part of the yard membership. Contact us to learn more about current membership options. Buyer inquiries are free, and The Stone Index does not take a percentage of the material sale. We will provide advance notice of fee changes that affect an existing membership.

6. Seller Membership and Billing

Seller memberships are billed by West Coast Custom Stone Fabrication Inc., the operator of The Stone Index, through Stripe. The Stone Index provides an online inventory marketplace and buyer inquiry service; it does not sell the listed stone or collect a commission on material sales.

Membership plans

Starter — $199 per month: Up to 10 active inventory listings, listing management, and direct buyer inquiries.
Full Yard — $499 per month: Unlimited inventory listings, listing management, direct buyer inquiries, Stone Sourcing opportunities, a private monthly company performance report, aggregated marketplace demand insights, and promotional exposure.

A listing means one active inventory listing in the marketplace, not a physical slab count. Full Yard marketing exposure and Stone Sourcing opportunities do not guarantee a minimum number of views, inquiries, leads, or sales. Reports and marketplace insights are informational and may vary with available data.

Automatic renewal and authorization

By purchasing a paid membership, you authorize recurring monthly subscription charges to your selected payment method at the displayed plan rate until you cancel. The price, billing frequency, and any applicable taxes are shown before payment. There is no minimum fixed-term commitment, no per-inquiry fee, and no sales commission. Any free trial or promotional discount applies only if expressly offered at checkout.

Cancellation and changes

You may cancel at any time using the Stripe billing portal or by emailing hello@thestoneindex.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and membership benefits remain available through that date, subject to these Terms. Upgrades may take effect immediately with a prorated charge or credit displayed in Stripe. Downgrades to a lower-priced plan take effect at the next billing renewal. If a downgrade reduces your active listing allowance, we may contact you to select which listings remain active; we will not automatically delete your existing inventory because of a plan change.

Refunds and failed payments

Paid subscription periods are generally nonrefundable, except where required by applicable law or where we expressly agree otherwise. Canceling does not automatically refund a charge already made. If a payment fails, Stripe may retry payment and we may contact you to resolve the issue. We will provide notice before suspending paid services for nonpayment where required by law. Existing sellers and amendments

These paid membership prices apply when a seller elects to enroll in the corresponding paid plan. Existing seller arrangements do not automatically change solely because this section is published. If membership prices or material terms change, we will provide advance notice as required by law.

7. Fabrication and project requests

Fabrication requests are separate from the purchase of stone. The Stone Index may coordinate follow-up with an independent fabrication or installation provider. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a provider serves your address or will accept the project. Measurements, scheduling, scope and installation pricing must be confirmed with the provider. Displayed slab prices are for material only unless explicitly stated otherwise.

8. Prohibited conduct

Misrepresenting yourself, your business, or your inventory.
Posting illegal, infringing, or misleading content.
Interfering with the Service, attempting to bypass security, or scraping the site.
Sending spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages through the platform.

9. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and promote that content as part of operating the Service. "The Stone Index" name and logo are our property and may not be used without permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings remain available, that a seller's information is always complete or accurate, the quality, safety or legality of listed material, or the conduct of other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Stone Index will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Stone Index from any claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
