Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of The Stone Index ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The marketplace

The Stone Index is a B2B platform that lets stone yards and fabricators publish slab and remnant inventory and lets buyers discover and inquire about that inventory. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers and we do not take possession of any material.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter contracts. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials confidential.

3. Listings

Sellers must own or have authority to list the materials they post.
Photos must accurately depict the actual slab or remnant offered.
Descriptions, dimensions, and pricing must be truthful and current.
We may remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.

4. Buyer conduct

Inquiries must be genuine and made in good faith. Do not scrape the site, harvest seller contact details for unsolicited marketing, or use the Service to compete with it.

5. Fees

Basic listings and inquiries are free during the founding period. We will provide advance notice before introducing fees that affect your account.

6. Prohibited conduct

Misrepresenting yourself, your business, or your inventory.
Posting illegal, infringing, or misleading content.
Interfering with the Service, attempting to bypass security, or scraping the site.
Sending spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages through the platform.

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and promote that content as part of operating the Service. "The Stone Index" name and logo are our property and may not be used without permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any material listed on the platform, the accuracy of any listing, or the conduct of any user.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Stone Index will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising out of your use of the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Stone Index from any claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
